Perpetual Motion was a 'band name' I came up with around 1988-1990 ish, and I used it on two tapes I made of songs I'd written. I can't take credit for the name - I heard it talked about in relation to music in the superbly funny film 'Young Einstein' (starring the dubiously named 'Yahoo Serious'). I liked the sound of it, and it stuck in my mind, and so it became the name I used. I think there may have been a record released in the 90s by a band calling themselves Perpetual Motion, but as far as I'm aware it didn't have much success.
The logo I can't take credit for either, I found it on a clipart collection on whatever desktop publshing software I was using at the time. It was clean and simple, and seemed relevant to the name Perpetual Motion. I'm not sure when Microsoft first started using their 'jigsaw' type logo for MS Office, but I'm fairly sure it was after 1990...... However in the spirit of 'fair play' I have decided not to attempt to sue Bill Gates for stealing my 'intellectual property' :)
Perpetual Motion has become a bit of a philosophy of mine over the years. Things change, life goes on, and nature survives by constantly evolving. The only time things stop changing is when they die, so Perpetual Motion is the meaning of life...... (or is it 42?)
